Staff Development at Carr Infant School
At Carr Infant School, we highly value our staff and their ongoing professional development. We are committed to ensuring that all staff receive high-quality, bespoke training that meets both their individual needs and the needs of our pupils.
Our comprehensive staff development programme includes:
- Up-to-date safeguarding training, ensuring all staff understand and follow the latest safeguarding procedures.
- Medical training as required to support the well-being of children in our care.
- Support from subject leaders, including guidance with weekly planning and team teaching opportunities.
- Collaborative teaching, where teachers work together to reflect on and improve their practice.
- Weekly staff training sessions, covering a broad range of curriculum disciplines throughout the year.
- Showcase lessons, where exemplary practice is modelled, followed by in-depth post-lesson discussions.
- Participation in the Joint Primary Professional Learning Day, promoting collaboration and shared expertise.
- Joint training across local networks, with a focus on subject development and moderation.
- Subject leader mentorship and support, helping teachers to develop leadership skills in their specialist areas.
- Early Career Teacher (ECT) mentorship, providing tailored support for teachers in the early stages of their careers.
- A strong support system for new staff, with assigned mentors to help them integrate smoothly into Carr Infant School.
